I really hope Newgrounds lasts far, far into the future because I really don't know where else to 'hang out' online.
P.S. how do you feel about the 'M' rating?
it's kind of a coin-toss with the M stuff! i'm not really sure what it signifies, every time I set a video to having lots of strong language I get assigned an M which doesn't seem right (i've since gone back and made everything T)
Your section on NG does a great job capturing why I love this website so much. It's comfy, the people feel genuine, and the website celebrates creativity like no other. Great read through.
Youtube is full of problems but SOME can be reduced with extra ad blocking. Manually block the comments and the sidebar recommended vids. I wish I could also block the homepage and end of vid recommendations. Muh self control. I also use the "Clickbait remover" extension which makes a random frame into the thumbnail; makes me watch way less vids.
Insta and NG are relatively easy to adblock the parts of the site you don't want to see. I like that NG now has ratings for news posts and the front page, but I still don't want to support or promote the site due to the prawn. For twitter I switched to tweetdeck years ago (an official alternative site to see your feed) since the main site is intolerable, and unfollow anyone who posts rage bait.
Correction: you can use an extension called "Unhook" to block YT recommended, homepage, comments, shorts tab, some "for you" vids in Search... etc. Wish I discovered this 10 yrs ago
